Ditch UGC, do EGC

Is UGC still working?

It’s been a month since I posted and engaged consistently on social media. I finally broke through 3,600 followers on LinkedIn, 100 followers on X and 300 followers on Threads.

In today’s email:

  • 3 marketing tactics you can implement this week

  • “All in one place” headline copywriting formula

  • Book summary: Trust & Inspire

👇 Let’s get into it

TACTICS
3 marketing tactics you can implement this week

1/ Features people in your ads

An agency that managed over $10M of ads budget found that ads with people drove a 62% higher conversion rate than those without people.

They did this test after researching WeWork’s ads vs. other coworking spaces.

2/ Ditch UGC, do EGC

User-generated content (UGC) recently gained huge popularity because of TikTok. UGC content works well because it’s raw, and it doesn’t really look like ads. However, consumers are getting smarter and more familiar with UGC, which resulted in a decrease in conversion.

Employee-generated content (EGC), however, has started to gain momentum.

Try it. Get your employees or yourself to post behind-the-scenes information about your business, meetings, training, lunch, etc.

I noticed this, especially for e-commerce brands that posted their warehouse and packing process.

3/ Do these to increase your IG followers and engagement

Post 20 slides carousel post.

Recently, Instagram Chief Adam Mosseri said, "Why [do] carousels often get more reach than photos? Two main reasons. One, multiple pieces of media are going to mean more interactions with your carousel posts, and more interactions is going to mean more reach on average. And two, if someone sees your carousel post but they don’t swipe, we’ll often give that carousel a second chance and automatically move to that second piece of media for the viewer.”

Post on Threads

I don’t know why, but it just works.
